The OSRC has had a very busy time with the local schools as we attended fetes at Chipping Ongar Primary School, High Ongar Primary School & Moreton C of E Primary school. This was a great opportunity for us to promote the club and Junior Squash, but also helped us support a local school. It gave pupils of all ages a chance to get involved in a sport that they had never tried before. They even started competing with each other which was great fun.

This was attended by 43 people who all had a great time playing , eating , drinking and then being entertained by our very own Rusty Rockers .
Junior Squash Open days
These were well attended and enjoyed by the children .
Spring Clean
Hopefully you have noticed that our club is starting to look a little bit cleaner and tidier recently? This is thanks to an enormous effort made by many of our members on Saturday 28th April. With a working party of 10 people we managed to complete a lot of jobs around the club: Painting the entrance hall, repainting the hall by the courts, cleaning all the paintwork and walls on balcony, repairing gent’s toilet door and relaying tiles in gents shower.
Special thanks to working party members:
John Fowles, Kay Hewitt, Jan McEwen, Dave McEwen, Peter Woodcock, Bruce Banks, Cath & Dave Honeywell.
We are not quite finished with improvement work but hopefully you agree that we have made a good start. Our aim is to try to improve the club to make it a better environment for our current members but also to give new members a positive first impression of the club. We were very thankful to the local Council for now providing us with a pot hole free car park. I think you will all agree that the newly laid and improved car park provides a more welcoming and safer environment.
Ongar Town Festival
The OSRC also had a stand in Jubilee Park at the recent Ongar Town Festival, giving us an ideal opportunity to promote our club and support Ongar. It was great to meet so many new people.
The weather was perfect and the OSRC had a large number of people come and give mini squash a try. Thanks to those from the club that showed their support and helped make it a successful day.
